How do I place an order?

You can place an order directly through our website. Simply select your desserts, add them to your cart, and check out online. For custom cakes or catering orders, please fill out our inquiry form or contact us directly.

How far in advance should I order?

We recommend placing your order at least one week in advance to ensure availability. If you need something sooner, we can often accommodate short-notice orders for an additional rush fee.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes! We offer local delivery within the DMV area. Delivery fees are calculated by distance and order size. Free delivery is available within 15 miles of Rockville for orders over $70.

Can I pick up my order instead of delivery?

Yes, pickup is available at our Rockville location by appointment. Details and pickup times will be shared in your confirmation email.

Do you ship outside of the DMV area?

At this time, we do not offer nationwide shipping. We specialize in fresh, local delivery to ensure the best quality.

Are deposits required for custom orders?

Yes, all desserts and event packages require a non-refundable deposit to secure your date. The remaining balance is due by the date stated in your confirmation email.

What is your cancellation or refund policy?

Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to your order date. Refunds are processed minus the non-refundable deposit. Due to the nature of perishable products, completed orders are non-refundable.

Do you offer nut-free, gluten-free, or vegan options?

While we are not an allergen-free bakery, we can offer select desserts that are nut-free, gluten-free, or vegan. Please contact us in advance to discuss dietary accommodations.

Do you cater weddings, birthdays, and events?

Absolutely! We offer wedding packages, birthday spreads, and full dessert catering for any event. Packages include cakes, cupcakes, dessert cups, and more—styled and ready to impress.

Can I customize my cake or cupcakes?

Yes, customization is our specialty! From flavor to design, we’ll work with you to bring your vision to life. Submit your request through our custom order form.

How should I store my desserts?

Cakes and cupcakes are best enjoyed fresh. If you need to store them, keep refrigerated and allow to sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes before serving. Dessert jars and cups can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and secure online payment methods at checkout. Deposits and balances for custom orders can also be paid online.

PAYMENT & DEPOSIT POLICY

A deposit is required for all orders to secure your date. Once your order is confirmed, the deposit is non-refundable.

If The Golden Kupkake is unable to fulfill your order, the deposit will be refunded.

Final payment of the remaining balance is due on the date specified in your invoice or contract.

Accepted payment methods will be listed on your invoice.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

(Refunds apply only to the balance paid beyond the deposit.)

  • 7+ days before delivery/pickup: Full refund of the balance (deposit excluded).
  • 3–6 days before delivery/pickup: 75% refund of the balance (deposit excluded; 25% preparation fee applies).
  • Within 48 hours of delivery/pickup: No refunds.
  • Deposits are always non-refundable once the order is confirmed.

DELIVERY POLICY

Coverage: We currently serve Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia only.

DELIVERY FEES

  • Within 15 miles of Rockville, MD: Free delivery on orders $70 or more; $5 delivery fee for orders under $70.
  • 16–35 miles: $20 delivery fee

    Maryland: Columbia, Ellicott City, Laurel, Bowie, Upper Marlboro, Annapolis (eastern edge), Germantown (outer parts), Waldorf (northern side)

    Virginia: Fairfax, Tysons, Reston, Vienna, Springfield, Alexandria (western side), Arlington

    Washington, D.C.: Entire District (~20 miles from Rockville)

  • 36–50 miles: $35 delivery fee

    Maryland: Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Annapolis (full area), Hagerstown (southern parts), Waldorf (southern parts)

    Virginia: Manassas, Woodbridge, Leesburg, Stafford (northern edge), Fredericksburg (northern side, closer to 50 mi mark)

Travel & Event Services: For wedding packages, catering, or large events, additional travel and breakdown fees will apply.

ADDITIONAL FEES

  • Short Notice Fee: $40 for orders placed with less than 48 hours’ notice (rush fees may increase based on distance and complexity).
  • Event Staffing: If staff are required to remain on-site during your event, additional staffing fees will apply.

ORDER CHANGES

  • Design or flavor changes must be requested at least 5 days before delivery/pickup.
  • Last-minute changes are not guaranteed and may result in additional charges.

LIABILITY

  • Once orders leave our possession (via pickup or delivery), The Golden Kupkake is not responsible for damage caused by mishandling, improper storage, or environmental conditions at the event location.
  • Please follow provided storage and serving instructions for best results.

TERMS UPDATES

These terms remain in effect unless otherwise specified in writing. Policies may vary for large orders, weddings, or custom catering packages.
